Overview: Cong Tim Burchett was elected in the recent 2018 mid-term elections to represent the TN-02 district which includes Knoxville and surrounding communities. After nearly 16 years in the state legislature -- 4 in the State House and 12 in the State Senate -- he comes to Washington very well qualified to represent his constituents.
Prior to his state elected offices, Tim graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1988 where he earned his bachelor's degree in education. He later became a successful small business owner and Mayor of Knox County, TN. Now in the US Congress, his priorities include energy independence, healthcare solutions, support for veterans, and many other pressing policy issues.
