The Government Relations Association (GRA), the fastest growing association representing the lobbying, GR, fundraising, grassroots practitioner and public policy advocacy community, is privileged to announce the 108th "Meet the Member" event in our popular series. Please join us when we host Cong. Virginia Foxx (NC-05) on Thursday May 9th at 9:30am for a lively breakfast discussion.

Cong. Foxx graduated from Univ. of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with her AB in English, and her MACT in Sociology.  She subsequently went on to earn her Ed.D in Teaching/Higher Education from UNC-Greensboro.  After teaching sociology at Appalachian State Univ., Dr. Foxx held positions as Assistant Dean of ASU, and Deputy Secretary for Management in the NC Dept. of Administration.  Her foray into politics started with election to the NC State Senate in 1994-2004.  She also served as President at Mayland Community College from 1987-94.  She was elected to Congress in 2003 and was sworn into office in January 2004.

She currently serves on the key committees of:
House Oversight and Reform
House Education & Workforce (Chairwoman)
