Cong. Haaland earned her BA from New Mexico in 1994, and her JD from Univ. of New Mexico in 2006.  She was elected in November 2018 to represent her Albuquerque constituents.  She was assigned to two great committees of importance to her district:

Cong. Haaland is a former leader of the Democratic Party of New Mexico, and as a member of the Laguna Pueblo people is one of the first Native American women elected to Congress.  Her public service history includes being the state vote director for Native Americans in Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign, and running for Lt Governor of New Mexico in 2014.
