Overview: GRA is pleased to announce the kick-off "Meet the Member" event for 2020 -- breakfast at 9:30am with Congressman Tony Cardenas (D-CA). This will be GRA's 41st Member of Congress to meet with our members!
Cong. Tony Cardenas is a member of:
House Energy & Commerce Committee (subs. on Communications; Health; Consumer Protection)
Cong. Cardenas earned his BA in Electrical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in 1986. In 1996 he ran for the California State Assembly and won his first election in what has been a long and successful career in public service. He is serving his 4th term in the US House after having served 3 terms in the California State Assembly, and 3 terms on the Los Angeles City Council.
In 2012 he ran for and won election to the US House of Representatives, representing much of the San Fernando Valley. He has been active on such issues as job growth for his constituents, addressing gang violence, exploring sensible gun reform, pursuing opportunities for juvenile justice, and has been a leader on such issues as green energy and animal rights.
