Overview:  Cong. Pete Aguilar was elected in 2015 to represent the 31st district of California.  The Congressman joined the House Appropriations Committee where he has taken a leading role on the subcommittees on Energy & Water Development, and the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development -- key committees for his constituents in one of the largest and most diverse districts in the "Inland Empire" of Southern California. 
 
Pete Aguilar previously served as Mayor of Redlands, and upon joining Congress was given key positions including Whip for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and Assistant Whip in the House Democratic aucus.  He is known for working across the aisle in a bipartisan manner, and has gained a reputation of being a voice for the middle class, for supporting policies that create jobs, support education, and protect vital programs for seniors and veterans.  He has also taken a leading role in the ongoing immigration debate.
