Overview: Congressman Bryan Steil was elected in the November mid-terms to represent Wisconsin's First Congressional district, previously represented by Speaker Paul Ryan.  Bryan received his BA from Georgetown and a JD from Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison.  Prior to the 2018 elections, Cong Steil spent a decade in the manufacturing industry where he saw the impact of regulations and red tape on his local economy in southeastern Wisconsin.
 
In 2016 he was appointed to the Univ. of Wisconsin Board of Regents where he was able to address pressing issues regarding the availability and affordability of education for students on the 26 UW college campuses.  It was during this time that his interest in public service continued to grow, leading him to run for the open seat in 2018. Cong. Steil now serves on the House Financial Services Committee.
